EICR electrical testing on a motorhome
01  —  What we test

A full test of your mains electrics

Every part of the 230V mains system is inspected and tested, and the results are recorded.

NOT part of a standard habitation check.
An EICR is a separate electrical test, booked in its own right. It costs £295.

02  —  How it works

From booking to report

01

Book your test

Tell us the make, model and year of your vehicle and where it is kept.

02

We come to you

Our mobile workshop comes to your home or storage site.

03

Inspect and test

A visual inspection first, then instrument tests on every circuit. The power is off for parts of the test.

04

Your report

You get a written report with the results and anything we recommend, explained in plain English.

03  —  Who needs one

When an EICR is worth having

1

Buying or selling

Proof of the condition of the electrics for a sale, or peace of mind before you buy.

2

Hiring it out

Hire and insurance companies often ask to see a current report.

3

Older vehicles

Wiring, breakers and connections wear with age. A test shows what needs attention.

4

After a fault or damp

Power that keeps tripping, water getting in or DIY wiring are all good reasons to test.

04  —  Where we work

We come to you

Your EICR is carried out where your vehicle is kept, whether at home or in storage. We just need a mains supply to connect to.

07  —  Questions

Questions owners ask

An Electrical Installation Condition Report. It is a full inspection and test of the mains electrical system in your vehicle, with the results written up in a report.

Yes. We test the mains electrics in all three, at your home or storage site.

The wiring regulations recommend an inspection and test at least every three years, and every year for a vehicle that is used a lot.

No. An EICR is not part of a standard habitation check. A habitation check includes basic electrical safety checks only. An EICR goes further, with instrument tests on every circuit and a full schedule of results.

C1 means danger is present and needs action straight away. C2 means potentially dangerous. C3 is an improvement we recommend. FI means further investigation is needed.

All makes of motorhomes, campervans and caravans, including Auto-Trail, Swift, Bailey, Elddis, Bürstner, Hymer, Adria, Coachman, Lunar, Benimar, Auto-Sleeper and Volkswagen California. If yours is not listed, just ask.

We explain what was found and give you a price to put it right. Nothing is repaired without your go-ahead.

Luke did a superb professional job fixing the wiring problems on our VW transporter and also installed a solar panel and two victron units. Very happy with the work and would certainly recommend this company!

Luke has recently completed a habitation service on our motorhome - fortunately he could fit us in at short notice. He is very knowledgeable, his work is very thorough and he provides a clear explanation of the work he does and the costs. During the service he spotted some issues with work that we had done a while ago - he suggested how these could be put right and we’ve booked him in to do this. We will definitely use Luke again and have no hesitation in recommending him.

I highly recommend Luke! I asked Luke for a habitation check on my camper. He was very efficient and he explained everything he found in detail. Luke is very friendly and helpful. He even managed to squeeze in an appointment, at short notice, for the habitation check due to me going away on holiday. Thank you Luke. Excellent service!
